WHAT IS SAIL NAVY?
MERCHANT SAIL NAVY (MSN FORMATION) IS A RESERVE MARINE FORCE POPULARLY KNOWN AS SAIL NAVY, CONSORTIUM OF NIGERIA SEAFARERS (MARITIME CADETS AND GRADUATES) AND GENUINE ENTREPRENEURS, OWNED BY NIGERIANS, ESTABLISHED AND INCORPORATED AS A RESERVE MARINE FORMATION BODY UNDER THE CORPORATE AFFAIRS COMMISSION (CAC) ABUJA WHICH OPERATE UNDER THE LAWS OF COMPANIES ALLIED MATTERS ACT (CAMA) OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA.
MERCHANT SAIL NAVY (MSN FORMATION) have an Affiliation with the ESGT & ESCT Benin University Ecole Superieure De Gestion Et De Technologie under Benin Republic to offer all accredited programs and courses as approved by the Board of Directors of the University.
HISTORY ABOUT THE MERCHANT SAIL NAVY
In the year 1748 the United State Marine Department (which includes the Reserve Marine and the Civilian Marine) was established from the United State Navy which is the active duty of the country and United State Marine Department took charge of Security of the water ways/ Coast security.
In the year 1854 the British Merchant Navy (formed from the Marine Department)was established using the Red Ensign/Red duster as her Flag.
In the year 1884 the British Merchant Navy established the Organization in Nigeria, and the British Merchant Navy was combining the job of:
1.Port Authority
2.Inland Water ways
3.Nigeria Navy
In the year 1914-1918 the Marine Department were recognized in Nigeria and recruitment took place for Marine Department officers to go into 1st World War.
In the year 1936 the Merchant Navy was registered worldwide which means that the association operates in every country, and Merchant Navy Officers in Nigeria took charge of the Nigeria coast security duties.
In the year 1939 During the 2nd World war, the Merchant Navy joined in the 2nd world war for them to fight against the Germans on a vessel called S.S ANTHONIA and about 28,000 Merchant Navy Officers lost their lives.
In the year 1948 the Queen of England set up a recruitment of about 200 men from each country so to reunite the Merchant Navy, under one formation to fight against the enemies, Which after the successful recruitment the queen of England named the new organization Royal Navy and the Royal Navy took charge of the Royal Guard duties to operate under the Queen of England.
In the year 1953 the scene of Independence approached.
In the year 1960 1st October the Federal Republic Of Nigeria got her Independent.
In the year 1963 the Royal Navy (formally the Merchant Navy) was dropped and choose to answer Nigerian Navy.
In the year 1998 the Merchant Navy came up again with a good formation and mobilization in Nigeria as a security body and as an institution but was unsuccessful.
In the year 2015 October 19th the name MERCHANT NAVY CHARITABLE SEAFARERS CARE ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA (popularly known as MERNACSCAN) Was Registered under the Corporate Affairs Commission as Non Government Organization.
In the year 2018 the name Nigerian Maritime University Delta State was established as a Federal Maritime University in Nigeria to support the Maritime Educational System just as Maritime Academy of Nigeria Oron.
In the year 2019 December 10th the name MERCHANT SAIL NAVY INTERNATIONAL SECURITY(popularly known as SAIL NAVY) Was Registered under the Corporate Affairs Commission Abuja as a Formation body.
In the year 2022 September 23rd the name MSN FORMATION LTD Was incorporated under the Corporate Affairs Commission Abuja.
MERCHANT SAIL NAVY MAINTAIN HIGH LEVEL OF VIGILANCE TO PROTECT CITIZENS AND TO COMPLEMENT THE EFFORTS OF GOVERNMENT AND OTHER SECURITY AGENCIES.

Merchant Sail Navy Membership Induction Training is a reorientational training, Organized by Merchant Sail Navy International Security and powered by JohnLinus Mari Academy, in partnership with the ESCT and ESGT UNIVERSITY BENIN REPUBLIC, a training that orientates Members and Officers on the duties of the association so to help in supporting and protecting the laws of the Nation (Nigeria).

Captain JohnLinus Okoronkwo is a Merchant Sail Navy Captain by rank, He is the Commander General and the Director General of Merchant Sail Navy International Security.
Captain JohnLinus Okoronkwo is married.
Captain JohnLinus Okoronkwo is a native of Umuzumgbo Autonomous Community in Ihechiowa Town of Arochukwu Local Government Area Abia State.
Captain JohnLinus Okoronkwo is a Latin Diploma Holder from Urban University Rome.
He is an Administrator and He holds a BS.c in Transportation and Logistics under the ESGT UNIVERSITY COTONOU BENIN REPUBLIC.
He is an Honorary Member of the Nigerian Navy Senior Officers MESS Borokiri Rivers State.
Captain JohnLinus Okoronkwo is the Registrar of JOHNLINUS MARI ACADEMY.
He is the Director General of MSN LOGISTICS and also the Director General of JOHNLINUS OIL AND GAS NIGERIA.

ABOUT COMMANDER EGWU ANGEL
Sail Navy Commander Egwu Angel Gladys daughter of Joel Nwugo a native of Ugwulangwu in Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State Nigeria.Cdr. Egwu Angel is the Commanding Officer of Oscar Marine Ship Base Ogun State Command, she is Married to Reuben Egwu from Delta state, Blessed with two glorious children.
She is the Founder of City of God's Divine Mercy Ministry Int'l
She is a Visionary Leader and a Gallant Officer of The Nigerian Merchant Sail Navy.
REQUIREMENTS
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE APPLICATION
1. Must be in good physical form.
2. Must be between 18 and 60 years of Age.
3. Must have SSCE(WAEC, NECO and NABTEB) or GCE Ordinary Level with credit passes in at least Five (5) subjects which must include English Language, Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings.
Graduate with Diploma or Degree Certificate.
4. Must not have any criminal record.
5. Male applicants have to be at least 1.65-1.7 M in hight. Female applicants should be 1.6 M in hight.
6. Must not be a member of any Secret Society, Cult organization, drug addict, and any Illegal Activity.
7. Must have a valid identification card.
8. Maritime Certificate is an Advantage.
9. Driving License (Optional)
10. State of Origin.
IS MERCHANT SAIL NAVY A MARITIME INSTITUTION?
Merchant Sail Navy is not a Maritime Institution.
The Name Merchant Sail Navy International Security is the only registered SAIL NAVY in Nigeria since the year 2019 December 10th.
MARINE CAREERS
There are three (3) Types of Marine Careers.
1. ACTIVE DUTY MARINE - The Active duty Marine are the Country Navy (Nigerian Navy - Military), the Active duty Marine are part of the Armed Forces of a Country and their duties are to fight against foreign aggression and to provide Security at the water ways. They are the Sea Soldiers.
2. RESERVE MARINE - The Reserve Marines ( Merchant Sail Navy ) are among the Marine Safety and Security outfit of a country (Nigeria), they protect lives and properties, they help in supporting the Active duty Marine and other country security outfits, the Reserve Marines ( Merchant Sail Navy ) mostly operates on Marine Policing. They are the Mariners.
3. CIVILIAN MARINE - The Civilian Marine job mostly base on Marine Shipping Companies and vessels (commercial vessels, cargo vessels etc), they help to promote the Nation Maritime industrial growth.They are the Seafarers,

Ecole Superieure de Gestion et de Technologie (ESGT) Benin is an institution of higher learning, accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Republic of Benin and located at Vedoko CICA Toyota-Cotonou. ESGT is an institution built upon a vision that enables individuals from a mix of different nationalities and cultures to get the best in undergraduate and postgraduate international education. ESGT is fully licensed and legally authorized by the government of Republic of Benin following an independent evaluation by the Evaluation Committee for Private University (ECPU) and in this, all courses offered are fully accredited.
